REMEMBERING
SIA CHRISTINE YORKER

Sia Christine Yorker was born on July 15, 1991, in Bethesda, Maryland, at Bethesda Naval Medical Center. Sia adored God, was a natural magnet and enjoyed being around children. She frequently volunteered at church and in the community. Sia attended Deltona Lakes Elementary School, where she enjoyed working as a reporter for the school television program and as a hall patrol monitor. She was a member of the school choir and enjoyed playing soccer while attending Galaxy Middle School. She mentored many students at Pine Ridge High School, was an active member of Christian Athletes, and was the soccer team captain.
Sia aspired to be a pediatrician and attended the University of North Florida and later Seminole State Community College before being accepted into the Medical Program in Gainesville, Florida in June 2011 and was scheduled to begin classes in August 2011. Enjoyed taking pictures and was frequently seen with a camera in her hand. Sia also enjoyed sports, fashion shopping (High Heel Shoes), the theater, beaches, traveling, all types of music, and spending time with family and friends.
Sia Christine Yorker (19) was discovered semi-conscious on the bathroom floor with a towel under her head, complaining that her head hurt. My husband called an ambulance and was taken to the community hospital, where she had a seizure. A CAT SCAN was performed, which revealed bleeding on the right side of her brain. Sia was immediately airlifted to Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida, to be monitored by a Neurologist; however, upon her arrival, she was immediately taken into surgery.
Sia Christine Yorker (19 years old) transitioned from earth to heaven on June 21st, 2011 due to a "Sudden Acute Brain Hemorrhage" after being in a coma for three days following surgery. It's comforting to know that Sia has touched so many people's lives in such a short time, including our own. We are rewarded in knowing that her legacy inspires and propels others to prosper and progress. What gives us the most comfort is knowing that Jesus Christ is her Lord and Savior and that being absent from the body means being present with the Lord!
