In loving memory of Sia C. Yorker
Sia was entering her 3rd year of college in pursuit of fulfilling her dream of becoming a pediatric physician when a “Sudden Acute Brain Hemorrhage”. transitioned her young life from Earth to Heaven. The Yorker family honors her memory through scholarship and awareness programs nationwide.
ABOUT US
The Sia Brain Awareness Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization founded in 2011 in loving memory of Sia Christine Yorker and others affected by brain-related conditions.
Our Mission
We are dedicated to educating the community about the signs and symptoms of acute brain hemorrhages and other brain conditions, promoting preventive measures to reduce head injuries, and providing compassionate support to those grieving brain-related losses.
Through the Sia Yorker Medical Science Scholarship Foundation, Inc., we award scholarships to underserved Central Florida high school students pursuing medical and science degrees, advance brain health education, and inspire children ages 2–12 through engaging, hands-on STEM programs—nurturing the next generation of doctors, scientists, and innovators.
Our community initiatives reach far beyond scholarships. We provide direct student services in schools and hospitals, host the annual Brain Walk-A-Thon, organize bike and helmet giveaways, distribute holiday toys and food, lead educational seminars, and run the Community Cares Youth Volunteer Program, which unites young people and seniors to build meaningful connections while giving back to the community.
