SIA Yorker Brain Awareness Medical Science Scholarship
At just 19, while in her third year of college pursuing her dream of becoming a pediatrician, Sia Yorker tragically suffered a sudden, acute brain hemorrhagic stroke. To honor her dream and carry forward her lasting legacy, the Sia Yorker Brain Awareness Scholarship Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was created in December 2011.

Through the love and generosity of our community, the foundation has awarded 73 scholarships—ranging from $500 to $1,500—to Central Florida high school seniors pursuing medical science degrees. Each March, these scholarships are celebrated at the Sia Yorker Medical Science Scholarship Banquet & Silent Auction, keeping Sia’s dream alive and turning her legacy into a source of hope, opportunity, and inspiration for generations to come.
